"Reviewing 100 years elevator history, planning next 100 years"
70% of registration of participants for international meeting


The opening of '2010 Korea elevator safety expo' held from 15~to 18 December is not far away now. Even though the short preparation period, the expo will show 100 years elevator history and next 100 years vision.
Eom young gi, the leader of Korea elevator safety expo composing team, said “Selling exhibition booth, hosting international meeting is carrying out on schedule” and added “We will focus on the advertisement of Korea elevator technologies and safety level through this expo”.
According to the composing team 40 more companies from China, Japan and Korea booked 180 exhibition booths, and ISO TC meeting, PALEA, CEN is now arranged. Elevator expo is largest size of event in Korea containing exhibition, international meeting, seminar and elevator companies·associations·scholar·construction companies·building management companies participated. In this expo, 'Solar powered elevator' and program such as industrial award, 100 years publishing ceremony, performance and so on will be showed.
Also, debating seminar on ‘safety management of high speed elevator' will be held from 16 to 17 December. Especially, 'History museum of elevator 100 years' will show information on 100 years history of elevator industry and total information of present, and ‘Safety experience room’ will teach the measures on emergency.
Kim nam duk, president of Korea Elevator Safety Center, said “The world elevator market is expanded with the growth of Asia economy but we are bit behind comparing with the history and technology” and added “We support domestic companies to have competitive power through this expo, and chance to advertse the importance of safety on elevator to people”.
On the other hands, the composer team plan to make the expo as large international event so that it will have a meaning of celebration of 100 year elevator history.

Seoul city _ Using elevator with plenty of electric power
In case using 7 energy recycling elevator, you can generate 20,000 kWh electric power
Do elevator make electronic power? Seoul city installed generator run by elevators for the first time as public body. The generated electronic power will be used for lighting of city hall.
Seoul city installed energy recycling system from elevators to reduce fossils fuel and prevent green house effect. The idea of recycling is that when heavier side of elevator go down, it run motor rather than motor run it, this make electric power.
Until now, most of this energy is wasted on resistance as heat. Also, there need additional cooling system for controlling that heat. Seoul city analyzed this lost and decided to install the recycling system. This kind of recycling systems are under it's infant period and there are only 3 places with 4 units elevator in the civilian buildings.
Elevators in city hall run 680 times in 6 hours per day and generating 30% of city hall need power according to last 3 months measurement.
7 elevators in Seoul city hall generate 35% of city hall need power that is 20,000 kWh. Also, low heat saver 12,500 kWh for airconditioning system. This is the same amount of lighting up fluorescent light in 1.5 floors of city hall.
This is evaluated as new approach to 'Neo recycling energy system' model to save earth environment.
Also, if the energy is calculated as fuel, it is 8,000ℓ. That fuel make 2,000CC diesel car to run from Seoul to Busan 300 times. Also, 14,000kg CO2 gas that is reduced by the recycling system can be did by 2,100 pin tree.
On the other hands, Seoul city hall now have solar generator(40kW), Hydro cell(2kW), 2 power charge stations for electric vehicles, 2 CNG stations and 7 recycling power systems so they are estimated as landmark of environment friendliness·energy saving building.
