The name of world fastest elevator is 'THE EL'
The maximum stroke is 600m, reaching 151 floors within 55 seconds
9 phases motor auto-control, detecting floor gap technologies are applied

Hyundai elevator made a big boff. They developed world fastest elevator reached 1,080m/min speed. On 25th last month, Hyundai elevator(CEO Song jin chul, hereunder refer to as Hyundai) had a presentation of new products and announded that they had developed world fastet 1,080m/min elevator and 600m/min double decks elevator.
These two elevators are fastest in the world in single deck and double decks elevator individually. In the simulation test to Songdo landmarkcity(height 595m with 151 floors), it took 55 seconds to reach the top floor.
Also, the stroke is 600m(more than 150 floors) and this is world highest class. Now, the elevators installed in Burj Khalifa(828m) have 500m stroke. Park yung gi, director of Hyundai, said “We prove the fact that the level of Korea elevator technology is same or higher than that of world renowned elevator makers”.

Developed driving system, coping with the customers' need
On the aspect of system development, Hyundai achieved many core technologies during the development. They designed traction machine, control module, safety devices, pressure control device, side vibration control device and so on.
Looking close to traction machine, it is 9 phases(3 phases*3 sets) controlled so that one motor is broken then the other motors back up to 2/3 efficiency. Also, 600m/min double decks elevator have a function of detecting the gap between floors. On top of these, Hyundai established customizing manufacture system to meet customers' requirements, and reduced the weight of elevator, applied energy recycling inverter to reduce energy consumption.
Park said “We added aerodynamic capsules on the top and bottom of elevator and sealed door device to reduce noise down to 48db, vibration 7gal”.
Also, Song said “We can manage from manufacture to maintenance” and added “We have high advantage in this point comparing to competitive companies”. Also, he said “The high speed elevators that we presented are for the high landmark buildings and passengers will have experience of riding first class elevators”.
Hyundai named that elevator as ‘THE EL’ mean unique, and plan to developed the control program to run 8 units elevator at the same time by September.
On the other hands, Hyundai finished the construction of Hyundai asan tower last April 15 and achieved order from Venezuela on supplying 8 units of 480m/min elevators for government building for the first time as domestic elevator company.
