Kansou Introduces a Reflecting Seal
Title : Kansou Introduces a Reflecting Seal That Helps Backward Parking Issue : JUN, 2001 The Japan-Korea Festival was held at the Pacific Hall of COEX (Convention & Exhibition Center) on February 16. This festival took place as part of a project according to the 'Action Plan of a New Partnership for the 21st Century,' an annexed paper of the Japan-Korea Joint Declaration announced in October of 1998. The festival is to be held in each country for three times beginning 2000. KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) had already hosted the Korea-Japan Festival in Tokyo on November 30 of last year and this festival was the first one held in Seoul by Japan. The First Japan-Korea Festival was the first exhibition hosted solely by Japan in Korea and it provided a platform for promotion an exchange among entities at various levels in each country and understanding our neighbor Japan on even better terms and ended in rousing success on the 25th. Commodities exhibited as part of the Main Theme Zone included products that would be convenient for the physically challenged, non-handicapped, the elderly and the weak, and kids alike, along with technologies and products relevant to welfare. A reflecting seal introduced by Kansou was a product that help backward parking of a car for the elderly and the weak and it was adopted by and is currently in use by parking lots of Fukuoka Prefecture and Fukuoka Municipal Government. The reflecting seal of Kansou is used by affixing it on the floor surface of an underground parking facility, concrete wall, and asphalt pavement and by reflecting a taillight of a car, an entry to a garage is facilitated. There are two kinds in yellow and white and they can be used outdoors, as well as indoors. Mr. Fukumi Katsumi, the President of Kansou, who developed the product explained a motive behind the product development by saying, "I once had a severe injury on my neck and had a difficult parking the car backward." He thought at the time, "Would it be possible to back up the car for parking without brushing against the wall of a parking lot without turning your head?" The Kansou's reflecting seal has already been put into practical use after being adopted by the Fukuoka Prefecture and Municipal Government in past July and can be purchased at the Fukuoka Prefecture. Among a set of 4 triangular seals, one of them is divided into 4 equal parts and affixed in a one-meter interval on a line that demarcates the parking surface. On the wall surface of a garage, seals are affixed parallel to the line at a 75cm-interval from the bottom. These seals can be easily attached by looking up the product information alone, without any help from an expert. Mr. Fukumi Katsumi also explained that there was virtually no possibility of failure because the seal is a sticker-style product used by simply taking the paper off the back side for affixing. This product is made from glass beads that reflect light and can be used for an alert effect on not only parking lines but also outdoor stairways and low ceilings. Price: ￥900■ |
