Dr. Lee Bee Wah, Chairman of the National Development and Environment Committee of the National Assembly, who headed the Singapore delegation, said, "The Singapore government is currently considering the introduction of mechanical parking lots in public housing as an alternative to the shortage of parking spaces due to the recent increase in the number of cars in the country." "We will gather as much information as possible on Korea's relevant laws, systems, and safety management before the introduction of mechanical parking lots." Singaporean delegation shows strong interest in user safety The Singaporean delegation's main interests include Korea's parking policy, the rate of parking lot acquisition in Korea, the main issues when installing mechanical parking lots, manufacturing and maintenance relationships, safety devices, and user inconveniences. In particular, the Singaporean engineers asked a series of questions about user safety, and MOLIT and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority responded with detailed explanations on the domestic system, current status and technical aspects, the process of introducing mechanical parking lots in Korea, types and characteristics, installation status, inspection system and inspection methods, etc. The Singaporean delegation, which visited Korea for two days and three nights, had a meeting with officials from MOLIT and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and then visited a mechanical parking lot installation site to examine its usage and current status. |
