Korea Elevator Maintenance Association Holds 2nd Annual General Meeting at Yuseong Hotel, Daejeon
Korea Elevator Maintenance Association 2nd Annual General Meeting held at Yuseong Hotel, Daejeon 2012/04 The second general meeting of the Korea Elevator Maintenance Association (KEMA) was held at the King Hall on the 3rd floor of Yuseong Hotel in Daejeon last month. The event was attended by Kim Yoon-bae, chairman of the Korea Elevator Safety Technology Institute, Lee Sun-soon, general manager, Um Yong-ki, technical director of the Korea Elevator Safety Management Institute, Lee Chang-yong, chief of staff, Won Jin-bong, support manager, and Lee Ki-chul, executive director of the Korea Elevator Engineering Society, and a total of 120 people, including members of the association. At the general meeting, the association announced its four-year business plan for 2012, including rapid response to the revision of the Elevator Facility Safety Management Act, establishment of a cooperation system, revitalization of the association's work, and strengthening of the organization's status, and pledged to become a maintenance association led by its members. In particular, among this year's business plans, the association plans to increase its membership by prioritizing the membership of Mitsubishi's subcontractors, and to introduce the advanced risk-based inspection (RBI) technique, an advanced technique for maintenance inspection, within the year. "We will actively respond to the revision of the Elevator Facility Safety Management Act and Enforcement Decree to reduce the damage caused to the industry by the revision, and strengthen the role of the association as a domestic elevator maintenance organization," said Chairman Seo Gil-soo. |
