The Elevator Enterprise Council (20 companies), which is the core of the "industry association" of the Geochang Elevator Industry Valley, Korea Elevator University, Gyeongnam TP, which is the founder of the Elevator R&D Center, Korea Testing Institute of Industrial Technology and Geochang County Government recently benchmarked the major facilities of the Wonju Medical Technology Valley in Wonju, Gangwon-do.

Wonju City started the electronic medical device industry as a regional specialized industry in 1997 based on the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Research Institute at Yonsei University's Wonju Campus, and has developed into a medical device city with 109 medical companies and a complete set of "industry-academic linkages" such as universities and R&D.

The industrial manpower of the "Wonju Medical Techno Valley" is trained through Yonsei University Wonju Campus and Wonju Medical High School, and medical device R&D is operated by Wonju Medical Device Techno Valley and Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), which provides equipment support and S/W technology development consulting to related companies to improve their technological competitiveness.

The success factor of Wonju's medical device industry, which started from almost nothing in 1997, is the result of the establishment of the "Industry-Academia Alliance" and the sincere efforts of Wonju City, local universities, and tenant companies to foster the medical device industry as a regional development industry, so we decided to take follow-up measures to combine their success factors.

The 20 companies that signed an investment contract with Geochang-gun agreed that the core of the success factor is that the resident companies must be modeled as successful companies to attract follow-up companies, so they made efforts to develop their own technology and strengthen their competitiveness, and started building a factory from September to produce parts as soon as possible, and decided to implement related procedures such as securing initial capital with Geochang Elevator Co.

In addition, the joint brand development and production of the Korean medium and high-speed standard model is important to utilize the human and material resources of the Elevator R&D Center and Korea Elevator University, so the company, the university, and the R&D Center have decided to establish an organic cooperation system to launch the technology development project, and the Elevator R&D Center, which will play a key role in technology development, is under construction in the second half of this year and is planned to be completed in 2012.
