Meeting the era of replacing of the elevators installed between the end of 80's and beginning of 90's during Olympic boom. But, it is a party for foreign companies not for domestic companies and small-medium companies are still under hard period. Especially in maintenance companies are much harder because of subcontract system.
Kim sun tae, president of ShinGwang elevator, said “100% of maintenance business in elevator is carried out under subcontract system. The most important thing in maintenance business is securing replacement parts and this make maintenance companies which are mostly small-medium companies to sign subcontract with elevator manufacturers” and added “Lowest bidder get the contract and they also get lowest profit. And this circulation is directly linked to accidents”.
He also said “Subcontract system make a backward for maintenance business. But some companies are changed into servant companies depending heavily on big manufacturers about part supplement”.
On this, he insisted that elevator parts should be freely traded on the market and related institutes supervise maintenance companies.

Mr.Kim said “This product is developed for securing safety of elevator that is regarded as blind spot of crime. And it can prevent crime with alarm sound”. Also, ShinGwang almost finish the development of solar powered elevator.
ShinGwang take most important thing in maintenance as promptness. Normally, malfunctions of elevator are found by passengers but ShinGwang introduced preventive maintenance system that ShinGwang steps check every elevator under their control periodically. As a result, they can reduce failure rate dramatically so that it reached 0%.
Mr.Kim said “We invest on training employees so we can run present system” and added “As a result, the total volume of elevator under our maintenance is continuously increased”.
