Hyundai, achieved A grade on energy efficiency in Germany Save 500,000 KRW per year installed on 30 floors building
To reduce the energy consumption of building, there is attempt to attach energy efficiency mark on elevator as automobile. Hyundai elevator company(CEO Song jin chul, hereunder hyundai) announced that they achieved A grade on energy efficiency in Germany for main products including 600m/min speed elevator. Elevator energy efficiency grade certified by TUV under VDI 4707 Part1. It have 7 grades from A to G by checking elevator operating time, energy consumption, average running distance. A person from Hyundai explained ¡°We can achieve A grade by applying energy recycling inverter LOWATT that is core technology on saving energy¡±. LOWATT recycle energy generated by elevator movement and transmit the energy to lighting, air conditioning system so that LOWATT boost energy efficiency to 77.5%. Especially, no capacitor is used on LOWATT to elongate life cycle of inverter very much and this also was NET(New Excellent Technology) certified by MEST(Ministry of Education, Science and Technology). Hyundai said ¡°In case of using A grade elevator in 30 floors building, owner can save 500,000 KRW per year comparing to use conventional B grade elevator¡±. In Korea, there is no standard for estimating elevator energy efficiency but it will be standardized near future with the trend of low energy consumption. Hyundai achieved A grade on Time&Space(High speed elevator), LUXEN(Gearless elevator), yzer(Machine room less elevator) and they can meet various orders from construction companies. Mr.Song said ¡°By achieving highest grade under international criteria, we prove our technology on energy saving¡± and added ¡°We will do more and more on developing energy saving products¡±.
Korea Elevator College, stepped on developing hybrid elevator Korea Elevator College(president Choi jae bum, hereunder elevator college) was designated as the leader institute of industry¡¤scholar¡¤institute co-development project of 'Environmental friendliness hybrid elevator' hosted by Small Medium Business Administration and ignited the engine. 'Environmental friendliness hybrid elevator' is composed of conventional electric supplying and battery system. This system generate 2.5 times more recycling energy than conventional energy recycling system. Prof. Lim byung chul said ¡°According to Kyoto protocol, Korea will be mandatory country for reducing CO2 gas from 2013 and elevator need high efficiency system¡± and added ¡°Conventional energy recycling system is too expensive to boost efficiency¡±. On this, elevator college started development of control panel with Nuri engineer(CEO Jeon jong bak). Elevator college explained ¡°We will finish the development and testing of prototype elevator within 1~2 year and wish to supply it to national wide¡± and added ¡°According to our calculation based on 100,000 units of 15 passengers elevator(now 400,000 units installed in Korea), 64,800 ton CO2 will be reduced and save 2.3 billions KRW every year¡±.
