2nd Lotte World in Chamsil passed the construction examination conditionally
 Spotlight Bid battle among elevator companies was begun … who will be winner? The winner will take advantage on high speed elevator market, keen bid expected Seoul city announced that 'The 2nd Lotte World' would be located Sincheon-dong 19, Songpa-gu, Seoul city was passed the construction examination of environmental effect, related broad traffic renovation and 123 floors height conditionally. The 2nd Lotte World building will be 123 floors with 6 basement floors and height 555m, also area inside building be 782,497.48㎡. Also, it will be composed of one 123 floor building and seven 10 floors buildings. Highest building will be used as office building, hotel, department store and observatory. And low buildings will be used as cultural and educational one. The 21th construction committee was held last month 22nd. On the committee requirements that the building need a 30m short cut road from Olympic boulevard to Seokchon lake, external park and square considering that it is 800 thousands ㎡ huge building project are reflected on the project and passed. Especially, the release of elevator installation regulation was passed under the condition that elevator institute review the results of simulation program and output data. Henceforth, bid war was begun among elevator companies. Lotte group required double decks elevator considering huge traffic inside building. Double decks elevator is composed of two elevator in one shaft. It can carry 40~50 passengers one time and cost 3~4 times higher than normal elevators so there are only 600 units in the world. 20 units of double decks elevators will be installed in 'The 2nd Lotte World', and the winner may have additional chance to install their machine to Busan Lotte World. The candidate companies for winner is Otis Korea, Mitsubishi elevator Korea, ThyssenKrupp Korea and Hyundai. First, Otis elevator installed 2/3 in the world and they expressed strong confidence. Mitsubishi also installed their double decks in China recently and focus on sales. And ThyssenKrupp showed their twin elevator system that is strong in Europe market, also Hyundai finished the development of 10m/s double deck elevator last May.
